11 months out of the year I am a minimalist. Fashion, decorating, lifestyle, you name it…I find a way to make “less is more” work for me. December is my exception. I have loved every second of decorating my apartment for Christmas this year. Given, I did play 80’s rock hits instead of Christmas music while decorating but none-the-less I still got into the spirit of things in my own way.

I find it tasteful to add Holiday items where you would least expect them and also items that are fitting to the space that I have created to live in the rest of the year as well. A small tree was a must again since a larger tree would overwhelm my small space. Red and white striped butchers string, a hip snowboarding nutcracker, and a station wagon plate above the stove create a modern and young vibe in my 20-something apartment. While plaid stockings, poinsettias, and a traditional tree design create a classic look for me to enjoy.

Perhaps I will share my music playlist of rock classics to help get you in the festive mood next time? Happy Decorating!
