Happy week leading up to Cinco De Mayo! I have my sombrero and limes ready to fiesta like there’s no mañana next Tuesday night. While it is somewhat unfortunate that I have to wake up and be an adult the next day at work, I can’t help but be excited for the Mexican Holiday. Maybe it is because I am from Texas, but me and my group of friends have already started planning our patio night with some of the best margaritas in town. Here are some great places to stop by on May 5th in the DFW area.

1. Blue Goose. It is hard to beat $2 Margaritas and a great patio. Try the brisket tacos!

2. Mexican Sugar. Margaritas and Tequila Flights for $5. The atmosphere and food here is also amazing. A great excuse to try out a new place.

3. Cantina Laredo. When I fly back from visiting another place without good Mexican food, aka anywhere that is not Texas or Mexico, my mom always treats me to Cantina Laredo. It just doesn’t get much better than amazing food and $3 beers/$5 Margaritas

4. Chuy’s. Laura Bush’s favorite Mexican restaurant, with good reason, and the place to enjoy fresh lime juice in the perfectly crafted margarita on the rocks.

5. Joe T. Garcia’s. If you are closer to Fort Worth on May 5th look no farther than Joe T’s. With one of my favorite atmospheres and only three options to choose from on their menu, you can’t go wrong ending up here on Cinco De Mayo…or any day of the year.

6. San Miguel Grill. My all time favorite place to eat and some of the strongest drinks in town. The Pollo con Calabacitas (chicken and zucchini), Fritta, or Maria Felix are what my family orders every time we visit!

7. Bien Salsa. Located in Downtown McKinney, Bien Salsa has drink specials all day for the festivities on May 5th.

8. Mi Cocina. With tons of locations in the metroplex, it is easy to stop by the wonderful MiCo to feel like a true Dallas socialite on Cinco De Mayo.

9. Riverwalk Cantina at the Gaylord Texas. Get the vacation vibe by relaxing riverside at this wonderful spot in Grapevine. Special drink and dinner menus are available for the evening.

10. Taco Diner. $5 Mambo Taxi’s and Classis Margaritas all day. Get there early and enjoy their beautiful patio while you people watch the afternoon away.
