To Do List

I am a list maker. I come from a long line of those that make list. I find myself jotting list down and adding to the bottom of the list “Re-Write To-Do List”. Life seems to become meticulous for turning into a list format. Graduate from High School. Go to College. Graduate from College. Find a Job. Work Hard. Get Married. Have Kids. Retire. Society tends to perfectly be able to understand individuals who follow this formula, regarding those who check off each tasks in the order that they appear, as successful. I’ve come to regard this way of living as being funneled through systems and processed to watered down versions of who we are. There are infinite times that the most memorable moments of my life were never planned, they simply fell together in seamless serendipitous ways. I may be a list maker, but the more I change and evolve the more I believe in accepting the moments that come my way as they are. As I analyze the list of my life it is easy to focus on the things I have yet to mark off as complete. My to-do for today is to highlight the things I have crossed off and enjoy the things that have yet to be written down. At some point, down the road, I will look back with remorse that each task on my list is already complete..
