It is easy to think of the words inspiration and motivation interchangeably. They each hold value to creating work worth lasting, yet they still seem to grasp different meanings when dissected further in our mind. Motivation seems to take lackluster efforts and give them a boost or a psyching-up per say. While inspiration seems to come much less effortlessly, sparking from the smallest of words, senses or people.
Today I realized the people that have inspired me are usually the ones with the least to say and the most to do. The places I find myself day-dreaming back to have far less to offer materialistically than my everyday life. And the experiences I think of with a fond smile are moments that were simple and translucent to a point that made them profound. From all directions of a life worth living, I truly think it is a serendipitous moment when one is truly inspired.
As I teach, each day, to a classroom full of young and creative minds I hope that they are not only motivated…but that they are inspired by the people and world they have created around them. To instill in their work, designs and ideas an inspiration that inspires others. This is the art of becoming the definition of true success.
